Dear Readers,
T
ellus is more than just a space for vegan ideologies to manifest. Whether you're exploring how to restore environmental balance, doing your part to slow global warming, or avoiding the taking of another being’s life out of moral principle – we’re here to listen.
Education and innovation thrive on thought-provoking discussion, which is why we’ve created conversations designed to challenge our perceptions of the traditional vegan lens. In a fashion world moving at relentless speed, it’s easy to overlook the consequences of our choices.
Tellus is here to ask the harder questions, through engrossing, thoroughly researched, long-form content that aims to engage your mind, test your values, and inspire conscious decision-making. We are intentionally pushing back against distraction culture and the white noise flooding our feeds, in the hope of sparking deeper dialogue. This commitment to long-form storytelling allows us to confront the questions many shy away from – as we work to imagine a fashion future rooted in care for the planet.
Our imagery and features echo this ethos: creating a kind of heterotopia where the natural world and human disruption intersect. Through outdoor shoots and narratives, we aim to capture the hope found in fashion’s potential to reconnect with the environment.
Our content is driven by two central themes: confronting the meat industry, and the innovations emerging through vegan design and creative disciplines. We’ll examine the meat industry's role, the parts we’re willing to kill for, and the future of what’s discarded. While other vegan discourse may shy away from the exploitative meat industry, we will be confronting the good, the bad, and the ugly head-on, as we open up sustainable conversations that have lain dormant for too long. Our Flourish Futures film segment invites you to imagine the untapped power of the natural world, complemented by multi-hyphenate creative Sophie Cherry’s reflections on navigating veganism in a professional space.
We’re exploring sustainability in its most raw and radical forms – but not as you’ve seen it before. Prepare for a reflective read that we hope will make you laugh, cry, and above all, think.
